Staff Profile: Josh Morris

Cimco is proud to be a team made up of diverse backgrounds, skill sets and interests. Every few weeks we highlight a member of our team to learn what makes them (and Cimco) unique.

Josh Morris is part of our Cimco Customer Care team, where he supports customers with product selection, quotes, and orders for Link-Seal, Multi Fittings, and several other lines. Around the office, he’s most in the zone when humming along to '90s music, or when he's on the phone with a customer—helping them find a solution that leaves them breathing a sigh of relief.

Q&A with Josh Morris:

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Renton.

What are your hobbies outside of work?
I like being outdoors—camping, shooting, kayaking, or just going on a road trip.

What is your favorite thing about working at Cimco?
The thing I like about Cimco is the people. There's a culture of trust set up for us to lift each other up and succeed.

Describe a time that your work made a difference and what you found satisfying about it.
There are many times that a customer needs something (a quote, product specs, or a last-minute shipment) with very little time to provide a solution. When I am able to provide a service and can literally feel the tension ease up for the customer—that gives me satisfaction.

What's something throughout your career that people tend to come to you for your expertise?
I've been here just over a year and I'm still learning a lot, but I'm usually approached for my product knowledge—specifically with Multi Fittings.

Do you have any surprise skills that most people in your professional world don't know about?
I have 20 years' experience in LTL (Less-than-truckload) Transportation. Mostly as a driver, but the last 7 years of that was in operations.

Best advice you ever received:
There are two quotes that I learned in high school that have stuck with me my whole life: "Spend less time figuring out how the tiger got into the house and more time figuring out how to get the tiger out” (solution based processing) and "To the world you may only be one person, but to one person, you may be the world.”

Describe a time that you saw one of Cimco-GC Systems' values in action? Why was it memorable? What did it mean to you?
I see these values in action every day. I can trust that the warehouse will accurately pull an order. The warehouse partners with inside sales to notify if there's a more cost-efficient shipping option. Every conversation with a customer, colleague or vendor is handled with professionalism. Our sales teams show innovation helping customers solve problems (even if we’re not able to provide the solution ourselves). And the  relationships are strong company wide. This morning I walked in and took extra notice of everyone's interactions with each other. It was all smiles and genuine friendliness. That's what makes this such an incredible place to work.
